Kyndal loves to read

Kyndal has quite a collection of books. Mommy started buying them before she was even born. We try to read to her everyday and she really loves it. Even when she was much smaller in daycare the daycare workers would tell us her favorite toys were the books. We always keep some in the livingroom for her to "read". Here she is reading one of her favorites "The Very Hungry Caterpillar".

p.s. Kyndal's eye is all better now

Kyndal's eye is already looking better

Today Kyndal's eye is already getting better. It is not nearly as red under her eye and not as gunky. Kyndal is such a trouper. She has pink eye, an ear infection and the second top tooth is so close to cutting through, and you wouldn't even know anything is wrong with her. Like I said before we didn't even know she was sick. Hopefully by tomorrow her eye look normal again.

Our poor little baby

I took Kyndal to the doctor this morning because the area under here eye has been red and it has been watering since Friday. When I called the doctor yesterday she said if she was having drainage to bring her in because it could be a plugged tear duct. So off we went this morning expecting that to be the diagosis. Turns out our poor little baby has pink eye and an ear infection. Who knew pink eye can make the outside of the eye red, I always thought it was the whites of the eyes that were red. Apparently pink eye and an ear infection often occur at the same time and can be caused by the same bacteria. So they prescribed antibiotics and I have to keep her away from other children for 48 hours. So no Kindermusic this morning like we planned. I feel so bad because I didn't know she had an ear infection, also that I took her to a birthday party on Sunday and she had pink eye, I hope the other children don't get it. Mommy guilt yet again. I hope our little baby gets better soon.

Kyndal's first steps

Kyndal and I decided to go to Cookeville today to take Courtney home and visit Nana and Papa for a few hours. While we were there Kyndal TOOK HER FIRST STEPS. She was tired but still managed to get two or three steps SEVERAL times. Unfortunately Daddy was 1 and 1/2 hours away so he couldn't rush home to see her do it. So I sent this video to his phone.

He had to call to make sure it wasn't smoke and mirrors. No smoke and mirrors, here is another video to prove it.

Lots of Fun...various stuff

Wow we have been busy. We have still been doing some reading activities when Kyndal's nap schedule allows it and Kindermusik and playdates, it has been so much fun. Kyndal just loves other babies and is very social, likes to touch them and talk to them. Kyndal's top tooth finally popped in, the other one will follow soon. Kyndal's Nana and PaPaw Kennedy came for a visit. Her Nana taught her to say "GirlFriend" and she would say "Papaw" too. She had lots of fun and wanted to be right in the middle of Papaw working on putting new locks on the doors. Kyndal's cousin Courtney (my niece) came last night. I took Courtney to my Zumba class with me and we went to the splash pad in the afternoon. This was the second time that we took Kyndal to the splash pad, the first time she was a little apprehensive, but not this time.

Check out the pics and videos.

Sleep tight little baby

Everynight before I go to bed I check on our beautiful little girl. To make sure she is covered and not in a weird position. Trust me this girl can get into weird positions. We have found her completely bend in half laying on her legs. The one day with her ear on her foot. It is so funny and it hurts us sometimes to see her. I can't believe how flexible she is and how on earth she can be sound asleep like that. So last night we checked on her and it was just so cute I took a picture. Doesn't she look relaxed. She is also completely upside down from the position I layed in in her crib. After 3 flashes from the camera and then lifting up her legs to take the blanket out from under her, she was still sound asleep and still sleeping with her little leg crossed over the other and her hands behind her head.

Where's Kyndal?

Watch and listen closely and try to ignore my annoying voice.

Happy 4th of July

We went to Kingston for the 4th and had a fabulous time. My family went too. We went boating and fishing, it was Kyndal's first boat ride. Here are some pics.

I love this one of my dad fishing. This is so him.

My Dad and I caught a fish at the same time. He was bass fishing, I was anything fishing.

Kyndal on the boat, doesn't she look cute in her life jacket. She didn't know what to think at first in that bulky life jacket.

With her Daddy.

Getting comfortable on the boat.
All dolled up in her 4th of July outfit.

More words for Kyndal

So Kyndal has been working on saying a few words lately...Ball...Baby...Bye-Bye, but on Monday she learned "Shadow". Kyndal loves our cat Shadow, she get's so excited everytime she sees her and will throw herself on top of Shadow anytime she is near. Shadow actually loves the attention, a little strange we know. Anyway, I always say Shadow's name when she comes by. This morning Kyndal repeated me and now she is calling Shadow all on her own. "Baa-Bow" is what she says, but she knows exactly who she is calling when she says it.

Edited - I wrote this blog on Monday, but am just now posting it. I have an update to Kyndal's vocabulary. She said DaDa for the first time yesterday! Oh, she also says "I love you". Sometimes more clear than others. Of course she will only say these words when she wants to. She is stubborn like her Daddy, LOL!
