Kyndal's Second Christmas

Well we had some ups and downs with Christmas this year. We did the circuit and went to my Mom and Dad's house for Christmas Eve, then we visited Bret's grandparents on Christmas day, then back to my Parents and then home. Kyndal was not feeling well ever since Christmas Eve. She had watery red eyes and a fever on Christmas Eve but it went down until we got home and then she got quite a fever. It spiked to 103.5 the evening that we got home, we suspected an ear infection. We took her to the doctor first thing that morning and our suspicions were correct. She has a double ear infection, a pretty bad one in fact. That explains why she just wasn't herself over Christmas. Then Granny and John's Mom got sick with some other ailments after Christmas, they are both on the mend though. So here are some pictures of Kyndal's second Christmas.

Super Cute Kyndal in her I heart Santa shirt

Not too sure about the rocking Giraffe that Uncle Rondel gave her, we think it is cute though

Showing some love to her cousins.

Help, get me out of here

Nana and Papa McConaha's house

Lounging on her new chair.

She was a pro at unwrapping presents

At home
Checking out her kitchen

Trying out her new basketball hoop

Taking a ride on the ATV, actually at the moment she is scared of it. She will push the button while she is standing next to it and it will go and she doesn't know that letting go of the button will make it stop.

Opening another one.

Look at all of these presents!

Kyndal's visit with Santa

Well I was saving this until the grandparents got their wallet size photo of Kyndal and Santa in the mail.

How did it go? Well the picture speaks for itself:

I just had to buy some wallets, isn't Santa funny! I was getting Kyndal all excited to sit in his lap. As we were in line I would ask her if she wanted to see Santa and she would shake her head yes. She kept pointing at him trying to say Santa. I asked her if she wanted to sit in his lap and she shook her head yes. I guess I was fooling myself because we pretty much got the same result as everyone else with a kid this age.

Kyndal wearing a Barrette

We bought Kyndal some Barrettes in Walmart today, I think she may have enough hair. If she would only let me put them in and then keep them in. Here she is tonight wearing one of her new Barrettes.

I caught her mid blink here, but man look at those gorgeous eyelashes!

Playhouse Disney Live

We took Kyndal to see the live version of her favorite morning shows. We went downtown and saw Playhouse Disney Live. Daddy took a half of a day off. We got to see Mickey Mouse Playhouse, Little Einsteins, Handy Manny, and Tigger & Pooh. She had a great time although she was still getting over being sick. Here are some pics.

She had her own seat, but it kept closing up on her, so she ended up in our laps.

Enjoying popcorn with Daddy. Popcorn is one of Kyndal's favorite foods. She mastered the skill of reaching in and grabbing a handful without taking her eyes off the show. It was funny when we took it away she would reach for it and then look at us like "hey, where did it go?"

The Whole Cast

It was all centered around Mickey having a Music party, which was appropriate since Kyndal loves music so much!

Miss Manners

I realized today that Kyndal says "Thank You". Just hand her something and she responds with a "Thank You" or at least her version which is clearly supposed to be "Thank You". Bret says that makes him happier than any other word that she says, surely not happier than "Dada"? Now to work on "Please", good thing I bought her a Manners Board Book for Christmas. Who knew her Daddy was such a southern gentleman.

Kyndal's 15 Month check-up

Sweet Baby Girl had her 15 month check-up today. She was definitely more uneasy about this appointment than past appointments, I am sure she remembers what happens at the Dr. Office. She got only two shots this time. Everything else looked good. She is on track developmentally... 3-6 words?.... Yep, in fact many more than that.... Can Identify Body Parts?.... Yep, surprisingly knows ones that we haven't really even taught her. So here are the stats of the day.... Weight 21 lbs 9 ounces, a gain of 1 lb 9 ounces since her 12 months, 30th percentile. Height 31 inches, grown 1 3/4 inches since her 12 month, 70th percentile. Head, well she still has a big noggin, 95th percentile, you all know she is a smart kid though ;) Hopefully I will have new pics of her soon, I have been swamped with Holiday Picture orders!

Oh and she has 4 molars now and she is working on her top eye teeth, even the doctor noticed. It has been pretty evident to us since she often has her whole hand in her mouth and is drooling like a fool.

Little Bruiser

Kyndal fell today. She is fine, but we had a little scare. We were standing in the driveway getting ready to leave and I guess she turned and tripped and fell on her forehead. She screamed for 10 minutes and had quite the knot on her head. I called the doctor and they told me what to watch for. Her swelling has gone down quite a bit, but she will have a nasty bruise. Our driveway is aggregate, so I know it hurt! Here is a picture, it really looks worse in person. BTW, she was fine and playing again after 10 minutes of screaming, no need to worry.

Funny Girl

Here is Kyndal at Walmart yesterday. She thought it was funny when she would throw the ball down and I would catch it. This is from my phone, so the quality stinks. It is the sound that is important.

Photographer's Kid?

Yep, check out the video..

Thursday, November 1, 2007

So I found out today from my hygienist friend that the first molars come before the canine teeth. So I felt in Kyndal's mouth and I found that a molar had already come through and she is working on the second molar because I can see it and she has been chewing her finger on that side. That means she is working on her 10th tooth. As Quincy would say "I cannot believe it." If you don't know who Quincy is, you are missing out on Kyndal's favorite show, "Little Einsteins".

Halloween Festivities

I guess Bret and I are kind of into Halloween. You might think Kyndal is too young to trick-or-treat, but my motto is "If they can walk, they can trick or treat." Kyndal actually had her first lollipop yesterday, she would say "ummm" as she ate it. We have had a lot of activities this week. Monday we had a Halloween party with our Mom's group.

All of the kiddo's gathering for some candy.

Kyndal, Brooke, and Emma

Two little lady bugs, Lola and Kyndal

Mommy and her cute little lady bug.

We carved our annual jack-o-lanterns on Halloween eve. Daddy's on the right, mine in the middle and Kyndal's on the left. We waited until Kyndal went to bed to carve them though.

Last night we dressed up and headed to the mall to eat and do a little trick-or-treating. The mall is a great place to go! Daddy put on his Charlie Brown shirt, remember the costume from last year, LOL! I put on my kitty kat ears and tail and painted my face a little. We made our way around a few stores and then headed home.

Robin, Cody and Emma met up with us at our house to hit the neighborhood a little. Here are the partners in crime the little lion and the little lady bug.

Here is Kyndal with all of her loot after we settled in for the night and continued to give out candy to the trick or treaters. Doesn't she look happy!

Happy Halloween!

Daddy and Kyndal are watching "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown", since Daddy is home today due to his eye. Here are a few snaps.

I spent a little time at the park trying to get a cute picture of Kyndal in her Halloween shirt. It is nearly impossible. Here is one anyway and one of Kyndal enjoying a drink from the fountain.

And without further ado, Kyndal in her costume. Our little lady bug.

Random Cuteness

Some of these are several weeks old, but I thought they were cute.

This one is a little old, but it shows Kyndal learning her new skill...coloring.

Over the last several days, Kyndal has really taken an interest in eating with a fork. We have been trying for a while to get her to do this, I guess she is ready now. Here is an older picture though before she took that interest, she was really getting into her spaghetti this night.

We went back to the pumpkin farm to go on our hay ride. They were out of pumpkin fudge again though. It was actually my first hay ride too. Here Kyndal is doing her Elvis impersonation.

We dressed Kyndal in the overalls that her Aunt Shelley painted for her this time, she looks really good on the farm in them.

Night night

Now Kyndal has always been a good sleeper, but what happened yesterday really surprised me. She is mostly down to one nap, but on occation still takes two. Yesterday a little before 10a.m. Kyndal walked into her room and was trying to climb up into her crib, so I asked her if she wanted to go night night and she shook her head yes, so I put her in covered her up and turned on her music and she took her first nap of the day. Later that day she was rubbing her eyes and I asked if she wanted to go night night and she one again walked into her room and tryed to climb into her crib. She did it again when it was time for bed last night. She normally doesn't put up a fuss when it comes time for naps or bedtime, but I really can't believe she is starting to tell me it is time to go to sleep. She is such a big girl.

Walden Farm

After a very busy weekend we managed to make it to the Pumpkin Farm on Sunday. I had two shoots on Saturday so we couldn't squeeze it in along with Kyndal's naptime. Kyndal and I decided not to go with the MOM's group because we wanted to go with Daddy instead. The Pumpkin Farm gets busier every year. Kyndal loved it. We took her last year and we remember saying that next year she would be running all over the place this year. We went through the hay maze, petted a cow and a pig, saw a lot of other animals, heard a rooster crow. We ate some pumpkin bread and we each picked out a pumpkin. We will probably go back in a little while to go on a hay ride and get some pumpkin fudge (they were out this time).

TTU Pride

We went to homecoming at Tennessee Tech and Kyndal saw her first parade. We ended up not going to the football game because believe it or not it was too hot. We had a good time anyway. It is pretty much tradition now that we go every year. We remember one year having to wear winter coats to the parade!!

Kyndal in her Golden Eagle shirt, she thought it was a duck though. She kept calling it a duck and saying quack quack.

Here comes the parade!

Kyndal the Pilot

I am a bit behind in my blogging, so I am catching up on a few..... Kyndal and I did a tour of the Smyrna Airport with our MOM's group a couple of weeks ago. Here is a pic of Kyndal "flying" the plane. Look Ma, one hand!!

Vacation Pictures

These were supposed to be on my photography blog, not Kyndal's blog. Anyway enjoy these pictures.
